Automotive Industry Action Group is an organization that designs and maintains EDI transaction sets for the automotive industry. It was founded by Daimler Chrysler , Ford Motor Company, and General Motors in 1982.Here the Transaction Sets are based on ANSI or EDIFACT or other EDI Standards depending upon the requirement of automobile industries.
Functions of AIAG
- AIAG works with other standards consortia, particularly the Open Applications Groups (OAG) to develop and publish XML schema specifications.
- AIAG guides the maintenance of EDI standards that are heavily used throughout the automotive supply chain.
- AIAG focuses on business processes and practices involving trading partners throughout the automotive supply chain. Willing professionals from approx 1,500 member companies in AIAG have worked together to resolve issues critical to the automotive supply chain
